Inray was founded in 2009 to develop measuring systems based on X-ray technology with which to enhance the efficiency of sawmills and power plants. The INRAY LOG X-ray scanner is used in production in sawmills in Finland and Latvia. The company’s other product, FUEL CONTROL, automates fuel quality measurements and enhances energy production. Systems are used by Europe’s leading bioenergy producers.
Inray aspires to offer its clients reliable measuring systems, software, and support services utilizing the latest technology and designed for industrial environments. The company’s key competences lie in smart measuring systems integrated in production and in the real-time analysis of measurement data. Inray aims to become the most significant operator in the field and offer its clients even more comprehensive production optimization solutions in the future.
Protacon, www.protacon.com, became a shareholder of Inray in 2018. Protacon is an industrial systems integrator, a technology partner in product development and a specialist in digital service business. Protacon employs more than 300 persons and the corporate turnover exceeds EUR 30 million.
European Commission has granted Inray Oy around 1.2 million euros under the Horizon 2020 programme for demonstrating the OPTIFUEL system that has been designed to enhance the efficiency of bio-energy production. The system has been developed by Inray Oy and is used for measuring fuel quality at various stages of the process at a power plant owned by Turun Seudun Energiatuotanto and at a paper mill in Great Britain. The aim is to optimize the energy production process through better fuel management.
