The FUELCONTROL ® Storage model developed by Inray Ltd has been granted a patent in the United States. The patent describes a control system and method for controlling a solid biofuel in a combustion process. The storage model combines the data into a usable form by receiving fuel quality measurement data regarding a fuel coming from the fuel reception, establishing a real-time content model of the fuel storage silos and controlling the fuel feeding to the boiler. The aim is to eliminate some of the problems of the prior art and to control a solid fuel combustion process in view of reducing the quality fluctuations of a solid fuel to be supplied into a boiler. The method has already been patented in Finland, several European countries and China.
